It would sure make it easy to get to know someone by being with them a few hours every week. I think it's a great idea. You both have something in common which helps with the small talk.

Well, sure, if I liked pottery. It's great to meet people with similar interests. Do you think they have a beer class? :D

Not just to meet people, but I've enjoyed doing pottery in the past and love to meet new people doing things I like to do.

No. I would take a pottery class if I liked pottery, probably not with the intent to meet someone. On a good note,If you do meet someone you'll have the same interests.

I am actually starting a pottery class with my friends son who is a closed head injury person. I look forward to the time with him and making my own piece of art.

I currently take a yoga class and meet people there. I wouldn't take pottery only because it's not in my line of interest but I'm sure many people out there like pottery so it would be a perfect opportunity to enjoy something they like as well as meet new people.

I would if I thought I'd enjoy pottery and other people who shared that as a common interest.

Go know thyself is THE RED QUEEN

No, not to meet people per sey, but if I just so happened to, in the process, meet someone interesting, I imagine that atmosphere would be safe for me to feel okay in talking to them.

As in its not a bar or anything.

Absolutely. Pottery is fun, and meeting people with overlapping interests can lead to long term friendships.

What if you made sexually suggestive art work. That would get some attention anyway.

generally class members are there for the class and not there to meet people. most have other agendas than meeting new friends.
