Strength can easily be improved by exercises. Just get one of those grip-strengthening exercise devices (the ones that look sort of like clamps, not the stress-ball things), and use it routinely.

Dexterity is a bit harder to improve, but again, practice will do the trick. Try forcing yourself to write with your left hand. Yeah, the result will be ugly. But, again, if you do it routinely, you'll get better. People whose dominant hands are immobilized for a few months (say by a bad fracture) often become ambidextrous because they have to learn to do things with their off hands. If you're willing to put in the effort, you can accomplish the same without any injury.

You'll have to teach your left hand to write, just like your pre school teacher taught you to write with you right hand.
Start by writing the whole alphabet down and then taking your left hand to copy the letters. Do this with numbers too. As soon as you can do this, you can move onto words and sentences.
It's all about practice practice practice.

I'm afraid you're going about it the wrong way; strength does not = dexterity. For example my left arm is stronger than my right but I can't write using my left.

I mess with peoples' heads in restaurant by switching fork and knive hands sometimes.
One time a guy tried forging my name- I got him
in trouble by showing a policeman my very different other hand signature that I had taught myself by inventing a whole new handwriting(and printing) system for the whole alphabet.

Looney's dead on -- strength and dexterity are 2 different things. For dexterity, I set my mouse for different hands at home and at work.
