Why are most DVD rips about 100MB?

    King Tom Dec 19th, 2008 Cause they're really bad quality. Better DVD rips should be around 700Mb.

    King of all squirrels in Squirreltown May 31st, 2008 because they are not usually saved in their original format and are compressed to save space and make downloads faster, XVID, DIVX etc. are video compression formats whereas on the original DVD the video is not compressed as most home DVD player do not have powerful enough CPUs or the nessesary software to decode compressed formats.
