Help answer this question below.
Go to your Windows Explorer window, Tools menu, Folder Options, File Types tab, find the file type (or extension) you need to change the associated program for, (they will be listed in alphabetic order), select it, edit it, and choose which program should be associated with it (that is, open that file type).
Should work, test it by double-clicking on a file with that extension.
