Exercising "discretion" in what you eat
No exercise burns belly fat only.
Fat is added all over your body, fat is removed from all over your body.
Yes males tend to put on MORE fat on the belly, waist before the chest, legs, arms and face and females tend to put it on hips, then belly, then the rest more - but it does not just build up there and get removed from there.
'A lot' of cardio means what?
Ideally one must first learn to put down the fork. No i do not mean stop eating, I mean learn to stop eating when you are full. Putting down the fork between each bit and allowing a moment for the food to reach your stomach will un most cases lead to your eating less.
Also such things are reducing ADDED sugars and ADDED fats (butter, margarine, sugar in the coffee, sugary high fat foods) will also reduce the number of calories you take in so what you burn actually makes a difference.
Many people makes gains - well actually lose fat - by just walking more or adding more exercise in their daily routine - such as parking further from the store/office door and hoofing those few extra parking spots to the door (also goes a long way to reduce the stress of finding a parking spot). Such as skipping the elevator ride for a jaunt up the stairs once in a while, such as adding an evening around the block walk, such as gardening (pulling weeds for an hour is great exercise) such as going to the pool once a week.
Minor changes in diet and exercise - a lifestyle change - will reduce all fat over a long period of time which leads to keeping it off.
Get up early on a nice, sunny morning. Go to your local coffee shop, the one where all the cyclists are visiting. See how skinny they are?
Go cycling.
:)
My calorie counter tells me that for a particular journey I burn 250 calories but if I do it twice as fast then I burn 310 calories. So speed doesn't seem to burn much extra, it's okay to take your time, but distance is important. Make sure you go a decent distance.
Walking is also fine but again, make sure you travel a decent distance and do it regularly. I just favour bicycles because you get to travel further, so you see more scenery, so it is less boring. After your fitness increases a little bit, you may be surprised how close everything is.
there are conflicting studies on whether exercising the fatty area will cause the area to become leaner. i dont know this answer. but i do know that exercising a specific area will make it more toned and the belly fat will look thinner. and more toned
