Help answer this question below.
Yep. When I was little, I'd lick anything.
Hmmm. That sentence turned out weird...
You can tell the state of charge on a 9V battery by touching both poles across your tongue. If it tingles, the battery still has life. If not, throw it away.
Yeah beat one easily in a hundred yard dash , he was well licked !!!
I have now...
Damn curiousity!
No. And I never touched my tongue to a frozen ice tray, either. I had seen others do it. I was the youngest of five. I learned by observation.
Of course. Is there an 8 year old who hasn't?
I do it all the time to check the charge.
Yes. I've been battery licking in the absence of a digital voltmeter for years and can tell the voltage within 0.5V.
Yes. I was expecting some sort of electric flow or a shock. Nothing happened. I'm going to try different brands.
Yes. It felt fizzy and kind of good. Didn't everyone lick one when they were little?
Licked? no.
Placed it on my tongue for a shock? yes.
yes i have (im 17) i also check the charge of Ds Cs AAs and AAAs by placing my tongue on the positive end and touching the negative end to my upper lip! works quite well! yes i do own a voltmeter, only use it for testing live AC outlets ( i don't feel all that prone to lick a 120v wire! much less a 220v!!!!!)
YES! And i licked my laptop charger once. It hurt REALLY bad!
yes but you should also try putting one in your pocket with a load of coins. things really hot up then!
Yeah. I was curious.
Yeah I have, but have you ever took apart a 9-volt battery? Seriously try it.
(It has 4 AAAA batterys in it by the way, totally safe to do)
Nope ...never licked one :):):) !
Yes I have,it's kind of fun.
3 people a year die in the UK from this every year, i have done it many times but have yet to die.
yeth i have =D
Yes, I became supercharged.
I have never even heard of this as an 8-year old's curiosity or as a way of testing batteries. I never have tried that. I have certainly learned something, though I still won't be licking batteries anytime soon.
AAAAAWWWW YEEEAAAAAHHH!!!!
Yes! That's how I test them. No taste = dead, acidic (like a lemon) = weak, strongly tingly = good.
Works great, never hurt.
No, I ask my kids to do it for me.
Yes on a dare. I touched an electric on a dare. But I didn't do the dare to pee on the electric fence. Even fools have limits. :)
When i was a kid my brothers and i used to collect frogs and put them all in a bucket. After awhile the frogs started to have sex, but we were dumb and thought they were fighting. We couldn't pull them apart without hurting them, so i got an idea with a 9v. battery. Just put each frog foot on each battery terminal and they instantly separated. After we let them go, a couple days later the pond was full of frog eggs. We finally figured it out.
about 100 people a year are killed because the current passes up through the fluids in your head and shorts your brain. Seriously, don't do it.
Yeah. Those were good times.
i have never personally done it but i have got a few stupid others to do it in the past
ummm no never crossed my mind to do something that stupid
Erm yes once when I was young (and stupid) but the new question should be, have you ever licked a 12v car battery? If so you are even more stupid.
Sadly yeah damn it hurts..
Just licked a nice fresh one a couple of days ago!
Have you ever licked a nine inch...
nail
Yes, I didn't experience any shock. I was disappointed.
Try it, It tastes like caviar. :)
+4 for your curiosity!
its a good way to find relatively how much charge is in it
When I was a kid I did. Not so much now.
no but once i accidentaly connected the postive and the negative side of a 12 volt battary and sparks came out.....(for those who dont know that is bad!!very bad)
sure ..... it's magical to feel the electricity .. good taste
No,I have no reason to lick a 9 volt battery...
If I need to test the battery then I will use a battery tester Instead!!
yes... tingly!!
Yeah;Kool ain't it??
no i have never licked a 9 volt battery before, why should i do that or anybody?
yha. that quick jolt of energy really wakes you up in the morning. you should try it
it was horrible but awsome
Of course!
Its an adquired taste! HAHAHA
yes it prickled me!!!
Doesn't sound fun when its a brand new 9 volt!!!

I purchased a security camera CCTV, it came with two 12 volt adapters the instructions say the camea lens should be a 9 volt adapter, the camera is warm to the touch. Is this normal are 12volt and 9volt adapters the same or are they trying to dupe me?
