there are 3 options. 1. is that you can use a steamer to make it soft then just get a moist paper towel and wipe the stain out. 2.if you don't have a steamer first soak your stain on the carpet with steaming hot water (make sure water won't damage your carpet first) then let it sit for a few min. and then. get a towel and scrub it till the mess dissappears.
3.call a professional cleaner and just leave the job to them
stanley steamer is quite good at stains.

I swear my carpets were NOT cleaned prior to my move into to this apt.,yet management say yes.They LOOK clean, but I just get a feeling...
