An acceptance that both of us were at fault. The relationship is different now (no longer lovers) but we've managed to preserve the friendship.
a miracle
My present relationship is just fine, but my last one? It was mercifully euthanized. Hard drugs, behavior problems and smoking in bed and then passing out. (A death wish?) And that was only about the half of it. That girl needed more than I could give her.
alot of prayers, alot of faith, alot of patience, alot of forgiveness, alot of tolerance and alot of counseling.
driving a half hour to and from her place a couple more times a week
it would have been worth it for one reason lol
didnt feel like wasting my time and money for an immature relationship
Giving in at least 60% of the time. (and I actually only gave in 40% in reality)
It's the nature of relationships. The more it is worth to you, the more you will flex.
I guess I was never in a "relationship" with Sam in the context most people use the word relationship. But he was my best friend and I cared for him deeply. Nothing saved our relationship; once he started smoking 11+ joints of pot a day, buying 2 gallons of alcohol and became jealous of me and unhappy with his life, there was no saving our relationship. He kicked me out of his life; I wish he hadn't turned to pot and alcohol to resolve his problems.
I didn't and thank God, she is a cow now, wild how that happens.+3

Moley, really? 29 years, that's a long time to commit to something and then give it up. I admire your courage.

I just set a date told him. got all the direct debits changed, took my clothes, books and my cat and left a fully furnished paid up house behind. Asked for £10'000 .the house was worth £140'000. Did the divorce myself getting papers from the court.filling them in. he did not contest as I said I would fight for half the house if he did.I had contributed as much as him. all debits were in my name, from my bank.
What I left behind was just stuff.
Stuff is replaceable
