Brian I Nov 7th, 2009 Generally speaking Americans are among the friendliest and most easy-going people in the world, so it should be quite easy. Just don't let the jingoistic minority of fanatics and nut-jobs put you off.

Gene H Nov 7th, 2009 Americans are friendly for all their huff and puff. Libraries and bars are nice places to meet people. Go to YMCA clubs, introduce yourself to your neighbors. . .there are lots of ways.

- wing.walker 24/7? That's just silly. If sex was ALL someone ever talked about, he/she wouldn't make any friends. In general, people - especially women - would avoid that person because they'd instinctively know that anyone who talks (not necessarily "thinks", lol) about sex 24/7 is some kind of rude pervert.
