News: Getting to the Points
Help answer this question below.
Flight attendant training can be one of the most stressful events in your life; however, it can also be the most rewarding. Flight attendants must complete training in a classroom and on board an aircraft. All flight attendant trainees are required to pass numerous written, oral and physical exams prior to completing the training program. Though each airline has different standards, usually trainees must pass each exam with at least a score of 85 percent. One of the most stressful training requirements is the door evacuation. Remembering that flight attendants are primarily there for the safety of passengers, candidates must demonstrate their ability to correctly evacuate an aircraft per company policy and procedure. Flight attendant candidates are required to memorize the use and operation for various types of emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers, oxygen bottles and auto-external defibrillators. Once a candidate has proven that she can perform safety-related duties up to par, she then must learn service standards. Each airline offers a different type of in-flight service, and new flight attendants must become familiar with the company's in-flight products. After passing training in the classroom, on-the-job training begins. The initial operating experience, or IOE, allows a company-appointed and certified flight attendants to observe the new hire in action for five flight hours, putting all of their new skills and knowledge to work.Testing
