    Jaclyn Castek Oct 28th, 2009 Thomas Hancock, an English rubber pioneer, noticed a sulphur bloom on a sample of rubber Charles Goodyear had made. In 1843 Hancock reinvented the vulcanization process and filed a patent for rubber tires, beating Goodyear by a few weeks.
