Power windows are a convenience most drivers have come to rely on, but they are notorious for failing over time. Repairs can be done by savvy car owners in most cases. While the car is off and the key is in the accessory position, try to roll the windows up and down. Check to see if when depressing the power window button causes the window motor to groan or the window to move at all. If all windows are stuck and no window motor noise is audible, it's possible the fuse has blown. Replacing the fuse can correct the problem. Window gaskets can come loose and warp over time. If windows will not open or close properly, there's a chance a piece of gasket has made it into the motor workings. Power windows are powered by a small motor inside the door panel. These motors can fail over time and need to be replaced or repaired. The regulator helps to prevent the window from being forced up or down too quickly by the motor and holds the window in place in the track. Window regulators can have tension springs that go bad or the regulator can corrode with moisture.Troubleshoot
