SkinMedica Inc. is a cosmetics company that focuses on developing and selling skin care products that treat dermatologic conditions and diseases as well as help improve the appearance of the skin. SkinMedica claims it is dedicated to promoting naturally radiant skin. To this end, it conducts research to create products for skin rejuvenation. SkinMedica Inc. has two divisions. SkinMedica Pharmaceuticals specializes in marketing prescription pharmaceutical products to dermatologists. SkinMedica Aesthetics deals with non-prescription skin care products. Some of SkinMedica's numerous products include moisturizing and antiaging creams, eye serum, facial cleansers, sunscreen and acne lotions. Two products of note are Vaniqa, which is used to slow the growth of unwanted female facial hair, and EpiQuin Micro, prescribed for the treatment of hyperpigmentation. SkinMedica products have been advertised or used by celebrities in fashion magazines such as InStyle, Women's Health, Self and New Beauty. SkinMedica is headquartered in Carlsbad, Calif.
