The starting salary for a nurseÕs assistant (also known as a nursing aide) is typically around $10 an hour. The difference in pay between an entry-level nursing assistant and an experienced nursing assistant is not all that large. A nursing assistant with 20 or more years experience earns about $11.55 an hour.
