Help answer this question below.
Questioning our leaders is the right and responsibility of every American. What frustrates me is that many of the same people who are now "questioning" Obama (and I mean that in a very critical and attacking way) are the same people who said those who "questioned" GW Bush were "unamerican" or "unpatriotic."
Questioning is good. Whining is tiresome. Let's be constructive.
No matter who is president, there will always be those who bash him (or her). Some people have nothing better to do, or actually delight in tearing down others.
Some people feel so badly about their lot in life that they set about trying to ruin and disparage everything and everyone. Such folks are best ignored.
You see, since they have not made anything of themselves, they greatly despise when someone else has.
As an American, I am sick of the put Obama down questions. I often wonder whether those who ask them are actually involved in trying to make things better or just sitting on their butts in front of the computer complaining and spreading fart gas around all day. I'd have a lot more respect for any of them if they were actually trying to make a difference.
Yes, give Obama a chance. It's still too early to say whether he is a good President or not. +4
its good to question that's also a sign of being an intellectual.
I don't see what is wrong with questioning our President, he has made some very questionable decisions
Yeah, uh, welcome to American politics. We have a large contingent of people willing to celebrate the murder of doctors, deny science no matter how obvious and whose understanding of economics amounts to "feed the rich so that we can have the table scraps."
They attacked Clinton this way too and now they're afraid of national health care even our system is so broken that even buying health insurance can be bad for your health.
as an american I am sick of all the worshipful AND demonizing questions about all our average politicians.... they are all corporate puppets from the from clinton to bush, but obama has not had enough time to prove he sucks as bad as everyone else.
1. No one is perfect
2. High expectations because of the absolutle shite state the world was in.
3. He's a democrate which means you will always have 50% of America calling him a twat. LEt's face it; Jesus himself could come down, prove God is real and run a perfect America making into the new Eden and you would still have 50% of America saying he has ruined the country and the economy has fallen and no one likes the sissy way he does things.
It's typical. I'm used to it. politics suck
LOL...Get used to it. That's what happens when a person trys to destroy the country from within.
i feel the same way
I'm an American, and I don't like the vicious Obama put down questions. Constructive criticism of the President is good, but not extreme criticism.
I agree 100%, all he has ever done is try to get the USA back in good shape and help the people.
Why all the hate?
I'm American, and I'm sick of them. He's got a huge mess to clean up thanks to Bush
The Republican's Whine is largely made up of Sour Grapes.
Get used to it. There's years of them to come
In my mind Bush was too much of a liberal in some ways and too conservative in others.
As far as Obama is concerned he has done a couple of good things and unfortunately so far has started some major mistakes IMHO.
The stimulus plan has gone pretty bad. Foreclosures haven't stopped, the banks were bailed out but nothing has changed.
The bailout was rammed through congress and debate was stifled and now he wants to do the same with socialized medicine.
Unemployment is over 9% and headed to possibly 13% and the plan that was supposed to provide immediate results in his words in Jan & Feb we are now told will take a lot more time.
The domestic auto manufacturer Chrysler was forced to merge with Fiat. The Obama administration ordered the "resignation" of Wagoner and GM was castrated. We can't feed 15 to 70 billion to the auto industry but we can give 700 billion to the banks and not even know how it's spent. Contrary to media and politico talk not because of product that the public doesn't want but actually because the banks stopped auto loans and floor-plan to the dealer base. Trapped into long term health care obligations to the UAW they claw to make profits while import manufacturers who build in the US get concessions and tax breaks.
He was and still is apparently aligned with extremist organizations such as ACORN and MoveOn who have agendas that run contrary to US Sovereignty.
He has belittled the office by bowing to foreign leaders forgeting that he is one too.
He has gone on a "2009 World Apology Tour", We all know the mideast loves signs of weakness.
It souns like he has attempted to force the hand and direction of Israel while talking them down in front of other leaders. If he keeps it up, he'll talk them into nukeing the whole Arab world.
Yup unfortunately it's true. President's can not please everyone so there will always be those who have to bash them in general.
From what I've seen, it seems like ABers are far more pro Obama than against. Unfortunately, with all the high expectations people had for Obama, reality is setting in.
"The President is merely the most important among a large number of public servants. He should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is warranted by his good conduct or bad conduct, his efficiency or inefficiency in rendering loyal, able, and disinterested service to the Nation as a whole. Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full liberty to tell the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly necessary to blame him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right. Any other attitude in an American citizen is both base and servile. To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or any one else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about any one else."

I may not agree with the people who put down Obama all the time through questions, but I'll fight to the death to protect their right to do so.
No.
They are balanced by the pro Obama sycophantic, ass kissing, questions and answers.
its a real concern for a lot of people obviously
It got old REAL fast! I began by reading them, occasionally adding my 2 cents. Now, I just roll my eyes and move on.
No, it lets the losers blow off steam in a harmless fashion and amuses the rest of us who supported the better man.
What is a put Obama down question? As an American it is my right to make sure my elected officials deliver. So criticism is a part of being a president. He will be always watched.
I voted for Obama and I hope he will serve better for this country as president. It doesn't mean that I support him for everythng he does. I do not worship him.
If your not an American why worry about it?Your the lucky one.You dont have to worry about how far down this socialist party is going to take us.
Yes me too. But Americans feel pretty strongly about their politics and president. It's not the same here.
As an American, I can say that he deserves most of what he has been getting, from my stand point anyway.
1. He gets it automatically for being President.
2. I think the reason why non-Americans don't get it is because Americans see the negative AND positive side to him. Others see him as this young, funky, basketball-playing cool dude president who could do nothing wrong.
All in all, he's still a politician.
No, I don't care about foreign countries like America.
So the 'Bashing Bush' questions are ok? Hey you can have this Liberal and you can drink his kool-aid. and even kiss his butt. I love the anti 'O' man questions. I didn't vote for him and I will not support his socialistic policies. SO THERE!!!
Were you equally sick of all the Bush-hating or Obama worship?
I feel you have over three years to go and then some.
As a non-American, how is it any of your business how we treat our leaders???
I dislike the way they often go out of their way to bash him. Like, people made a big deal out of him using a teleprompter, for instance. Who the fuck cares, really?
Other than that, I don't care. People can bitch and moan all they want, and link to Conservapedia all they want too, and I won't bother them about it if I feel they have a legitimate complaint.
Great, since you love the Obamessiah so much, why don't we ship him off to your country, so he can get started destroying it, the way he is America. I hope your country can afford a 2 trillion dollar deficit, because the man does love to spend and spend and spend. If you don't have the budget for that in your country, then fire up the printing presses, cause if Obama can't get loans from other countries, then he will just print off the money he needs himself. I'm sure your tax payers will enjoy spending years, pay back all that he spends. One thing, do you think that he could bring, all of the Marxist Progressive Liberals from America, with him? We don't want them any more.
After the election, the Republicans swore an insurgency against Barack Obama, using any means whatsoever (honest or otherwise) to obstruct him and his "Socialist" policies. They have maintained a campaign of lies, distortion, threats, and distortion to meet this end. All this while pretending to be the "patriotic" party. It is sickening. And while I was once an Independant voter, I will always vote AGAINST the Far Right after this.
I am sick of them and quite mystified by them.
I have no issue with people who disagree with his policies and goals.
But most of the questions aren't posted by those types of folks - it's the ones who keep saying "Obama is a gay foreign, communist, Muslim abortionist who wants to kill your grandma".
And I just don't get it - but I'm sick to death of it. I wish they'd go back to worrying about those anal probing aliens who kidnapped Elvis.

Thank you. And yet, someone downrated me -4! Oh well, politics is an emotional subject, I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Reminder to whoever DR'd me, from the Answerbag site use guidelines: "Downrating because you disagree with or dislike the author is against Answerbag policy."
If you disagree with me, fine, that's your right. Post a comment and let's discuss it.

They would rather stay anonymous rather than enter into discussion with you for reasons known only to themselves...methinks they are unable to defend their downrate.
