Thoughts about mom & 13 yr old making fake myspace page as a boy in order to harrass a girl, who they knew was treated for dep., for spreading rumors. The last message the "boy" sent was this world would be better w/o you. The girl hung herself.

Do you, or have you ever had, a teenage daughter? Oh, and yes, you are jaded. Death by your own hand is sad no matter what, but it doesn't move in the least that a 13 year old girl hung herself?

Irrelevant unless you wish to pull some "you can't understand unless you're a parent" BS.
Besides, how can you know that death isn't the best thing that ever happened to this girl? You haven't died yet so you don't know that.

Very little. People die every day, many by their own hand.
I did not know this girl personally, nor do I know anyone who knows anyone who knows anyone who knows anyone who knows her.
Out of the 6.7 billion plus people on this planet, what is it about her that deserves special consideration over, say, some kid in Iraq who happened to be a little to close to an IED when it went off? What makes her so special?

It's all about perspective. I've been hurt and messed with too. Without going into too much detail, what happened to her was mild by comparison.
Either I remain impassive or I consider it culling the herd.
I think you'd rather I was jaded ;)

No problem.
I admit that my viewpoints are often unorthodox and not always popular. All I ask is that my opinion is respected even by those who disagree.
And who knows; sometimes my reasoning sheds light on aspects of the issue at hand that others may not have thought about when they formed their own opinion. Whether that changes their mind or not, at least they walk away a little more educated. Isn't learning what AB is all about?

It wasn't a boy. It was a mother and her teenage daughter who created a false profile on myspace with the fake identity of a boy. Can you imagine? It's going on in Missouri right now. It gets better, then they asked someone to help them remove the account from their computer after she committed suicide. They knew the deceased girl (Meagan) was depressed. The mother assisted her daughter because Megan was apparently or allegdly spreading rumors about her daughter.
