All you need to do to answer your question is look at the various communist countries. When every one is entitled to everything, then everyone becomes equal in poverty because those that would work hard get tired of seeing the fruits of their labor given to those that refuse to work.
I would love to see all political ads preceded by "the following is full of spin/half-truths/lies". Wouldn't that be refreshing?
